How it works
What this site is, where the deals come from, and how we put them in order.
What is this?
A list of savings account promos from Canadian banks and credit unions. Each one shows what you'd earn on your amount, in dollars, and what to watch out for.
Where do the deals come from?
- Every week, a bot reads each bank's own pages: the offer, the full terms and the rate tables.
- Every number we show has to appear, word for word, in a sentence on the bank's page. If anything doesn't match, the deal isn't shown.
- When an offer's sign-up date passes, or it disappears from the bank's site, it comes off here too.
How are they ordered?
- By what you'd earn on the amount you type in, over the promo, before tax.
- Or by which offer ends soonest, if you pick that.
- Interest is compounded monthly, the way most banks pay it. Banks calculate daily, so the real number is slightly different.
- Anything over the promo's limit isn't counted at the promo rate.
What's not listed?
- Offers that only some customers get, because we can't check them on a public page.
- Anything we can't match to the bank's own words.
Do you get paid by the banks?
Not right now. If that changes, we'll say so here, and it still won't change the order.
Is this advice?
No. We describe deals and who can get them. We don't know your situation and we never see your balance. Always confirm the terms on the bank's page before you sign up.
